In the previous weeks, we have showcased a range of innovative green drive solutions. Towards net zero, several emission-free pump drive systems are possible. Of course it would be much smarter if we start using less energy while pumping. Or even better, if we start generating energy with our pumps!
You have probably already seen our fancy solar panel in the door of the canopy with which we convert light directly into electricity. We can also generate energy from water flows from our own pumping systems. The potential for deriving energy from water is enormous. Temporary pumping installations often unnecessarily pump too much water. Why would we let that energy go to waste?
With the BBA Pumps Mobile Power System MPS150E® we use turbines to convert water flows into electrical energy. Unlike standard turbine pumps, our mobile power system is multifunctional. With its large free passage, this energy generator is also suitable for use during sewer pumping. During extensive factory tests at a volume flow of 450 m3/hour we have generated up to 7 kWh (25 MJ).
