Hosted With Distinction
The ceremony was hosted by two familiar and beloved faces in the TDI community: Peter Brooke, Regional Commercial Director – Land Europe Africa at Fugro, and Vivian Botha-Veldstra, TDI Founder. Their combined passion for the industry and for the people within it set the tone for the evening: celebratory, sincere, and deeply connected to the mission TDI was built on.
The Remarkable Depth of Talent
A Fitting Close
To bring the evening to a close, Christoffel Botha of the TDI Advisory Council delivered a warm and charismatic speech. Chris reflected on what it means to know almost everyone in a room: to have worked alongside them, collaborated with them, called them friends, and then to see them all gathered together in one place for the very first time. He likened it to a wedding, where people from entirely different parts of your life finally meet, and the result is something greater than the sum of its parts.
It was a fitting metaphor for TDI itself: an organisation built on the belief that bringing the right people together, across geographies and disciplines, creates something the industry couldn’t achieve alone. Looking Ahead
As TDI steps into its next chapter, the energy and enthusiasm of the 2025 gala evening will carry forward into another year of growth, collaboration, and innovation. The physical trophies served as more than a symbol of achievement. They were an inspiration for the community to take action, collaborate, and share knowledge across borders and disciplines. Holding that recognition in their hands has also sparked exciting plans for TDI’s future, as the organisation looks to build on the momentum of this milestone evening.
